TMCo completed engineering services design work for this post-earthquake 10,000m² retail and office building.

After consulting EECA, funding was provided for our Mechanical, Electrical and Energy team to detail energy efficient initiatives to reduce overall running costs whilst assessing the CAPEX and OPEX ramifications.

Detailed thermal modelling analysis of the base building was completed which included electrical loads (computers, lights, etc), building envelope performance (insulation, glazing, etc), ventilation impacts (natural, mechanical, mixed mode), heating and cooling (types of systems, performance characteristics, controls), solar impacts (shading, gains, etc) etc., i.e. factors that affect the energy performance and loading upon the building.

Plant modelling allowed for a significant reduction in plant sizing offering great capital saving and ongoing tenant OpEx savings.
