Job description

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Senior or Intermediate Sustainability Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about sustainability, energy efficiency, and creating a greener future for the built environment. You’ll work closely with our clients, directors, and engineers, using cutting-edge simulation software to help drive sustainable solutions.

This role can be based anywhere in New Zealand, but we’d love to have someone in Auckland, Tauranga, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch or Queenstown,. We offer flexible working hours, the role is ideally full-time across Monday to Friday, within standard office hours.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Conducting energy modelling and simulation using IESVE (Apache, Apache HVAC, Radiance, Macroflo).
  • Performing thermal bridging analysis using Flixo.
  • Providing expert guidance on energy efficiency standards, building codes, and sustainability certifications (Green Star, Homestar, NABERSNZ, H1 Energy Efficiency).
  • Translating complex technical data into actionable solutions and presenting findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to integrate sustainability into building designs.
  • Supporting clients in achieving their sustainability and environmental goals.

Candidate profile

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Sustainable Design, Building Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in energy modelling and simulation software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and adaptable approach to work.
  • A genuine passion for sustainability and improving energy efficiency.
