Maruia Hot Springs is an award-winning, natural geothermal mineral hot springs, day spa and wellness destination tucked among the snow-capped Southern Alps.

TMCo successfully completed a comprehensive project focused on sustainability and environmental conservation. Our work involved a three-stage upgrade of the wastewater treatment system, ensuring the discharge wouldn't disrupt the native flora on DOC land.We integrated a mini hydro power generator, specifically designed to provide heating for radiators. This energy-efficient heating system maximised heat usage while minimising power consumption, embodying the sustainable ethos of the project.

The development also included designing luxury pods and wider buildings with a focus on maintaining the integrity of the natural surroundings. We laid the groundwork for civil infrastructure and created an effective wastewater treatment system that remained concealed underground. Its location took advantage of the naturally warm ground, improving its efficiency.

Sustainable Success: we executed a sustainable development that not only preserved but also celebrated the unique natural environment. Our careful and innovative design approach ensured minimal impact on the surrounding flora, while maximising energy efficiency and integrating seamlessly into the landscape.
